Start saving for future travels with these three tips

Welcome to my blog! My name is Michelle L. Marquez and I’m a finance student with a desire to help people get their funds in order. I believe that everyone can enjoy travel without going beyond their budget. While many depend on their credit cards just to make their vacation plans come true, it is better to save funds to have less worries especially after the trip. Let me share with you some tips on building up that travel fund:

 Make travel plans
If you have a destination in mind, it wouldn’t hurt to draft a travel budget. Whether you’re going on that vacation alone or with friends, you can start searching online for flight and accommodation deals to have an idea how much you’ll be spending. For those who are planning on going with friends, you can let them in on the budgeting so that you can keep each other accountable.

Cut back on extra expenses
You gotta give up some pleasures to see the bigger picture. If you plan to go all-out on travel, you have to track your expenses. Evaluate your spending in a month and take out at least three expenses. In my case, I had to stop my cable subscription, start making coffee and meals at home, and watch movies only when they’re finally available on streaming sites. With this scheme, you’ll be able to save thousands of dollars after a few months.

Transfer a certain amount to your savings
One of the best ways to save a big amount is to direct it straight to savings. Take it from me, future finance advisor Michelle L. Marquez. Instead of mulling over how much you’ll be saving up each time you get your salary, you’ll have a certain amount transferred to your account automatically.
